MICROBLADING/OMBRÉ POWDERED BROWS/COMBO BROW AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
INSTRUCTIONS:
DO NOT TOUCH THE HEALING PIGMENTED AREA WITH YOUR FINGERS AS THEY MAY HAVE BACTERIA ON THEM WHICH COULD CREATE AN INFECTION
On the day of the treatment: ABSORB
Gently blot the area with a clean tissue to absorb excess lymph fluid. Do this every 30 minutes for the first day until oozing has stopped, removing this fluid prevents excessive scabbing which is caused by hardened lymph.
Days 1 – 10: WASH
Wash daily to remove bacteria and dead skin. (Please note, THIS DOES NOT REMOVE THE PIGMENT)
Gently wash your eyebrows each morning and night with water and an antibacterial soap like Cetaphil. Use your fingertips to gently cleanse the eyebrows. Rub the area for 10 seconds and rinse with water ensuring that all of the soap is rinsed away. To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue. DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or any exfoliants.
Days 1 – 10: MOISTURISE
Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area with a Q-tip.
Do this morning and night, 3 times a day. Be sure not to over-apply as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing.
The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin. Never put the ointment on a wet or damp tattoo.
- Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of colour. DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area.
- The procedure may have some peeling on or around the third day. This is a normal part of the healing process for some clients.
- Do not apply makeup over healing areas.
- Do not tint brows within 2 weeks after your appointment.
- Avoid excessive sweating/exercise, sun, saunas, and swimming (including chlorinated pools, jacuzzis, or the ocean). You may start exercising 10 days after healing.
- Avoid facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion 6 weeks after your procedure
Avoid gardening and limit contact with animals near your face
Use a broad-spectrum sunblock after the area has healed to slow fading. - Do not use products containing AHA’s on or near pigmented areas including glycolic or lactic acids or Retin-A products (they will fade the pigment).
- Avoid products containing Aloe Vera or Vitamin E during the healing time.
- Do not donate blood for one year after the procedure, per the Red Cross.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT SHOWERING
Limit your showers to 5 minutes so you do not create too much steam. Keep your face out of the water while you wash your body, then, at the end of your shower, wash your hair. Your face should only get wet at the shower’s very last end. Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area.
Follow-up appointments should be scheduled between 6-8 weeks after the initial procedure. New procedures are sometimes a two-step process and final results are sometimes not determined until the follow-up visit is completed. Do not judge your procedure while it is in the healing process as it may require a follow-up.
If you experience excessive itching, swelling, blistering or any other complications post-procedure, STOP using the aftercare product and contact your technician immediately, you may be allergic to the aftercare product.
All tattoos carry the inherent risk of infection and/or allergic reaction, so if swelling, pain, or bruising persists for more than a few days, it may be a sign of infection, so be sure to contact your doctor right away
Any operations such as botox, facial laser treatments or chemical peels will affect the pigment from the procedure and the overall appearance. Please notify your physician prior to performing those services.
AVERAGE HEALING TIME AND PROCESS
Average healing time will vary from person to person and will depend on several physiological factors that include age, skin type, circulation, hormonal cycles, and how easily and/or severely you swell and bruise. Generally, as with any type of skin trauma, older looser skin tends to take a bit longer than younger skin to heal. Other factors that may affect healing time include diet, excessive physical activity, exposure to direct sunlight, and any medications you might be taking.
HEALING SCHEDULE
If you’ve never had permanent makeup done before, there are a lot of unknowns. One of the most common questions asked is what to expect during the healing process. While every person is different and some heal more quickly or slowly than others, here’s generally what to expect.
Temporary side effects from permanent makeup include but are not limited to redness, swelling, puffiness, bruising, dry patches and tenderness.
You should expect to lose approximately 1/3 of the initial colour during the healing process. We have selected the optimal pigments for you with this in mind. In approximately six days it may appear too light. After about 10 days, the colour will show more. It will appear softer when completely healed.
Day 1 Effect: The eyebrows are approximately 20-25% bolder and darker in width than they will be when healed. Expect light to moderate swelling and redness. The skin’s redness causes the colour of the pigment to appear darker. There is some swelling, although difficult to actually see due to the thickness of the skin in the eyebrow area. This will subside. Exfoliation, which begins in a few days, will cause the excess pigment surrounding the eyebrow to flake away and a more narrow appearance will result. New skin will heal over the pigmented area and result in a softer appearance of your eyebrows. Don’t be concerned that your eyebrows initially appear darker and heavier in size than you desire. This is all part of the process.
Day 2 Effect: Conditions remain the same.
Day 3 Effect: Eyebrows start to itch and will appear a bit thicker in texture. Exfoliation begins.
Day 4 Effect: The skin begins to flake, peeling from the outside edges first.
Day 5 Effect: Colour finishes flaking off and appears softer and greyer for a few days until the colour clarifies.
Day 6 Effect: The colour has lightened from its initial overly-dark appearance. For the next few days, the colour may now be lighter than the final colour.
Day 7 Effect: The final colour begins to stabilise and show through. The colour will continue to soften as the healing process completes.
LASH EXTENSIONS AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
Your lash extensions are attached to your own individual eyelashes and will shed as your natural lashes shed. Maintaining your lash extensions will require regular visits to attach new extensions (fill-in) to your own eyelashes as your eyelash growth cycle regenerates new lashes.
With a few simple care instructions, you will be on your way to enjoying your luscious long lashes. To increase the longevity of your lashes, it is advised to avoid moisture and touching as much as possible.
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
If you use waterproof mascara, avoid using it 2-3 days before your first appointment. The film it leaves on your lashes may prevent the extensions from adhering correctly.
Arrive at your appointment with dry, clean lashes and makeup-free eyes.
Remove contact lenses before your appointment.
DURING THE INITIAL 24 – 48 HOURS AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT
Do not get your lashes wet for 24 hours after the lash extensions are applied. It will affect the efficacy of the glue.
- Avoid steam from showers, facials, saunas and swimming pools.
- Avoid getting moisture around the eye area when washing your face, showering, etc.
- Avoid tanning beds for 48 hours after application.
- Avoid chemical peels, waxing or laser treatments around the eyes.
GENERAL GUIDELINES TO EXTEND THE LIFE OF YOUR LASHES
- Avoid using oil-based skincare and makeup products around the eye, including mascara and makeup remover.
- Avoid waterproof mascara. If you can, it is better not to use any mascara at all. You may find you don’t even need it!
- Avoid running water over your face. Moisture will break down the bond of the glue.
- Avoid rubbing your eyes or lashes, especially when washing your face. It is recommended to clean around the eye area with a washcloth or cotton swab (Q-tip).
- Avoid using an eyelash curler. One of the benefits of lash extensions is the ability to add curl to your lashes. If you would like more curl, please speak to your technician.
- If you can, sleep on your back to avoid the risk of lashes rubbing against your pillow.
- Gently brush your lashes with a mascara wand to groom them. The best time to do this is after showering, as they will be softer and less likely to damage.
- Avoid pulling your lashes, and do not attempt to remove them yourself. If you would like them removed, please contact your technician.
If you experience any pain, redness or irritation, contact your technician immediately.
LIP BLUSH AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
Day 1: DAY OF THE PROCEDURE
It is very important to remove the lymph fluid from the surface of the skin in order to avoid heavy scabbing. Before bed, if the lips still have some dry lymph, rinse with lukewarm water, gently remove the dry lymph, pat dry and apply Aquaphor Healing Ointment. Sometimes the lips can bruise even after the procedure. Bruising will subside within 24 hours post-procedure.
Day 2 – 7
The lips may be swollen the second day as well. Please do not ice the lips. Keep the skin moist at all times, and do not let the lips dry out. Continue to apply ointment every 30 minutes throughout the day. Again, do NOT let the lips dry out.
From Day 1 to Day 7: OR UNTIL THE SCABS ARE GONE
- Please Avoid:
Water (on the PMU area) aside from cleaning them. - Makeup.
- Excessive sweating.
- Sauna.
- Pools.
- Sunbathing.
- Spicy food.
- Kissing
DO NOT:
- Pick the dry lips.
Do not apply anything besides Aquaphor ointment (no Vaseline, antibiotic creams, Polysporin etc). LASH LIFT & TINT AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
Aftercare plays a significant role in prolonging the effects of a lash lift and tint. Here are some tips to extend the longevity of your lash lift and tint.
By following proper aftercare and maintenance, you can maximise the duration of your lash lift and tint results. However, it’s essential to note that individual results may vary.
- Avoid getting the lashes wet for the first 24-48 hours after the procedure.
- Avoid rubbing or pulling on the lashes.
- Refrain from using oil-based eye makeup removers or products around the eyes, as they can weaken the tint and the lift.
- Be gentle when cleansing the face and avoid using harsh products or rubbing the eyes vigorously.
- Use a lash conditioner or serum to keep the lashes nourished and hydrated, promoting healthy growth.
BROW LAMINATION AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
- Use a spoolie brush to groom your brows daily. It is best to do that after having taken a shower since the brows hairs would have softened from the heat.
- Avoid makeup or skincare products that contain oil or alcohol for the first 24 hours.
- Avoid getting the eyebrows wet for the first 24 to 48 hours after the procedure to allow the solution to set properly.
- Avoid rubbing or touching the eyebrows excessively.
Refrain from using oil-based skincare products or makeup removers around the eyebrows, as they can break down the lamination solution. - Brush the eyebrows daily using a spoolie brush to keep them groomed and in place.
